SHORT RIBS IN RAISIN SAUCE           
 
 1.    Place short ribs in crockpot or Dutch oven.
 2.    Salt as usual for a roast.
 3.    Add the following over the ribs:
 
         ½ c. raisins
         1 med onion, sliced
         ½ c. brown sugar
         a dollop of mustard
         2 tbsp (or so) flour
         a squirt of lemon juice
         1 bay leaf, broken
         maybe some lemon peel, if it’s handy
 
 4.    Add a bit of water in the bottom for moisture throughout the cooking process.
 5.    Cover tightly and slow cook. (I like to start them in the morning for evening meal).
 
 They should fall apart.
